I purchased a ROG CROSSHAIR X870E APEX and Ryzen 9 9950x3d processor. However, I have no experience with RAM. Which RAM would you recommend? Budget is not an issue, and I am not looking for RGB. I want performance. I only play games and occasionally do rendering tasks, etc.

2x32 6000 cl26 1.4v, 2x16 6000 cl26 1.4v, 2x24 6000 cl26 1.4v, 2x24 8000 cl38 1.35v.

If you NEED 96GB ram, then go for it.
If you want MAX performance with your Apex, then go for watercooled 2x16, 2x32 or 2x24 :D

I'm assuming that by card you mean motherboard? (Sorry if that is incorrect.)

If you absolutely need more RAM, then any motherboard that has a decent VRM and the specific features you do want is fine. Stressing over which boards can do the highest memory speed won't matter because your limit for memory speed will be from the memory capacity.

If you want to stick with the Apex and just meant which RAM to get, the best balance of speed and capacity comes from 48GB (2x24GB) Hynix M-Die kits. I think GSkill makes a CL26 6,000MT/s kit that is binned for very good CAS latency. It doesn't include a, 8,000MT/s EXPO profile, but the Apex should have a preset profile for that if I remember correctly. If you can't find that kit, some other memory brands may have similar kits.

If you want to learn more about RAM, the Apex is an excellent platform, but only if you pair it with the right memory.

A fast 48GB kit is going to be the best balance of performance and capacity. Here are the ones on the QVL list for the Apex.

Unfortunately, I don't know your market. That's the best RAM you can get for the board with a higher capacity. If you can find a 2x16GB kit with similar spec, that is also very good (technically, better, but lower capacity). If you have to find it on your own, look at the MT/s, the CAS latency (tCL or just CL), and the voltage. You can put the MT/s and CL in here to compare - the best you will find will be 8.666ns at 1.45v, but around 9.333ns at 1.4 is also pretty decent and 10ns at 1.35v-1.4v is average. If you can find something under 10ns without needing a lot of voltage, then it is good memory.

It's good, but it is dual rank so it doesn't make sense for the Apex. You are better off going for an 8000MT/s 2x24GB kit if you can find one, the CAS latency is not as important as the clock speed, and you won't get the high clock speeds with dual rank.

2x16 and 2x24 are single rank - this is what you want to get.

2x32 and 2x48 are dual rank - you do not want this.
