Hey guys,

I just got new x79 platform up and running

i7 3820
Rampage IV extreme
Corsair vengeance 16GB DDR3-1600

absolutely loving the rampage's features!

I just tried to do some OC'ing

I like to get the best out of it. So far ive ran 4.5Ghz on 1.35v. i just ran it 40mins in prime.. to test and that was all fine
the temps with my H100 were avg'ing on 65c. max temp was 69 on core 4.

Now i'm seeing some people run these on 5Ghz. 40x125
i tried 5Ghz on 1.4v but instantly crashed when i started prime95.

Could you guys give me some advice on the max volts/temps?
and whats save for an 24/7 OC

and whats the deal with people saying the degration of the cpu when using higher than 1.2v VTT?

Much appreciated!

Is it ok to run high voltages while the temps are still fine? or is there still the risk to fry the chip?

So i just managed to run prime and 4.8Ghz stable for 8 hours stressing.
I use 1.395vcore for it, i can still test it at 1.39v, but it crashed at 1.385v

i haven't really touched the VTT , VCCSA and PLL voltages yet
could you share some of those settings u use with me?

Look for the printscreen button on your keyboard. Its usually on the right of your F keys

Super stable at 4.75@ 125BLCK x 38 with 3.60VCore...However, if I bump up the BLCK just 1 or 2 notches to 125 or 126, it fails or bluescreens IBT. Regardless of VCore increase. I think it probably has something to do with the memory dividers or possible the loadline/max juice settings. I'll have to read up on these a bit more...
