Default [Project]Project 900

[Project]Project 900

There will be no painting sadly, but lots of cable management, and other goodies.

There will be a CCFL goodie mod, I cannot wait to do that one.

Heres the current setup:

Inside the beast:

Here is the current mess. As for the blue pci slot exhaust, I will be painting it black.

I will be adding a small switch to one of the front panel for the CCFL switch, instead of having it on the back on a pci bracket.

Parts from Petra's:

I also got 4' of this from petra's:
http://www.petrastechshop.com/neruedtrmo.html

That will be used for the holes.

I wanted some new speakers, so got these, the sound quality is great:

As for this side panel, I plan on buying a 1'X2' or 13"x7" to put a window by that wire mess.

I have a quick question for you guys, I am using a panty hose mod filter for the front intake fans, as seen here:

The thing is, they worked great, and now that I have these new ones from petra's, I am confused on what to do, because the ones from petra's have some big spaces and holes:

Does anyone use these?

Comments on everything and anything accepted and wanted.

Side notes: I do plan upgrading to 4x YateLoon high speed fans, to replace the stock antec 900 blue led tri cool fans.

Also, I will have tons of things to sell, I don't quite have the rep yet, but as soon as I do, lots will be available.

Could you put the dust filter behind the fan, and then put the screw through the fan and the filter, and then screw it it? Is the fan screwed in, or in some sort of snap bracket?

Anyways, looks like a good start. Good luck!

Ya, I could, the antec 900 case, you have these mounts, from which the fan goes into them, and then you screw the front panels to the mount and slide it in, I could put the filters on the inside, but my worry is that the filters will not filter out all the dust.

I don't see why you even need to worry about fan filters on the 900. It was designed in such a way that hardly any dust accumulates in the system.

As long as you have the 200mm on Medium, the back 120mm on at least Medium, you should see hardly any dust in the system. The biggest thing that people forget is to cover up the 200mm when the PC isn't on so crap doesn't drop inside the case.

I've had my system for over a year without having to clean it. It's reaised 4" off the carpet and there is hardly any dust! The only thing I would be worried about is HAIR! Hair is the killer.

Nice pics BTW.

Thanks for that, but I seem to have a large amount of dust, I feel that filters are a must, if you look here:

This is all dust, the panty hose is black.

The white coloration behind the vents is dust?

In my case, I can literally see dust blow in and out the 200mm and 120mm. So yes, dust is going to get in, but a good amount should also blow out.

Do you have a filter on the 200mm or 120mm? Put one on and see if dust is collected.

No, those white rings are dust collected on a panty hose filter that is in front of the fan.

There is no filters on any of the other fans. Well I guess modding will start soon.
